If you love boozy brunch drinks, throwing it all in the blender makes these Bloody Mary recipes even more fun.

You can certainly mix these ingredients and pour it over ice if you like. The frozen Bloody Mary recipe is much more diluted and, therefore, lighter in both taste and alcohol content.

3 ounces vodka in the frozen version seems to be good for most people but feel free to go up or down (2 ounces will be plenty if you’re not freezing) or eliminate it altogether if you’re looking for a virgin Bloody Mary recipe. This recipe works great for bloody mary popsicles, as well. If you want them very intense, mix all the ingredients without the ice, then freeze. If you want a lighter version, make the frozen drink then freeze it in popsicle molds.

Bloody Mary Recipe Substitutions

Don’t worry if you don’t have an ingredient on hand, it’s forgiving. As long as you have the tomato juice/vodka base mix, you can experiment with the rest. The full combination is complex and yummy, though, so I encourage you to try it. There are Italian and Southwestern versions below, as well. Feel free to experiment with spices and herbs, as well; my husband loves to throw turmeric into the mix.

Our Bloody Mary mix from scratch recipe scales beautifully so if you need more, multiply it as many times as your blender can safely handle. To serve a crowd, I like to make pitchers and serve alongside a garnish bar so everyone can make their own. If you’re not serving it right away, pop it into the freezer then back on the blender to serve.
